Clutter Diet Ripple Advice

It's been a super crazy yet surprisingly productive week this week. I've had my head down finishing up some last minute writing on the forthcoming second edition of my book The Ripple Effect: Maximizing The Power of Relationships for Your Life and Business. Much more on that later.

I had to break off from my writing to share some very exciting news. I am honored to be mentioned in my friend Lorie Marrero's The Clutter Diet BLOG. No not because I am so disorganized that she is using me as a super scary example of what not to do (that actually might be a future article) but rather for my input an entirely different matter. Check out Organize Your Way To Better Relationships by clicking here. Lorie also features advice from two of my other bud's Patti DeNucci and Thom Singer.

Lorie is the foremost expert in organizing and has been featured in national publications such as Good Houskeeping, Family Circle and Woman's Day just to name a few. Her book, The Clutter Diet: The Skinny on Organizing Your Home and Taking Control of Your Life is a fantastic book and I highly recommend you check it out. In fact here's a convenient link to do just that:

As Featured on Bigg Success Podcast Show

It continues to amaze me how many incredible people I have the sheer pleasure of meeting along the path of my Ripple journey. Thom Singer, friend and fellow BLOGGER of Some Assembly Required connected me to fellow BLOGGER Joshua Hinds with Business Networking Advice. Though I was somewhat connected to Joshua through Twitter we didn't know each other all that well. Thanks to Thom, Joshua tapped me to be interviewed on his BLOG back in March.

Joshua and I hit it off immediately and I have enjoyed reading his BLOG and discovering his other work these past few months. Well to make a long story short, Josh connected me with Mary-Lynn Foster and George Krueger with the Bigg Success Podcast Show and they just interviewed me. The interview can be accessed by clicking here and I hope you will take a listen and check out the other interviews Mary-Lynn and George have recorded. They have some really inspiring and motivational podcasts that I think you will no doubt like!

Anyway I just wanted to thank Thom, Josh, Mary-Lynn and George for this incredible Ripple and their individual support of me and my work.

THANK YOU!!!

My Passion Guest Blogger Post

Fellow author, Blogger and good friend Thom Singer asked me to participate in his Celebrate Passion Project and submit a guest BLOG post. I was honored to be asked and even more excited to share something that is truly a burning passion for me....helping kids reach their fullest potential by believing in themselves.

My ultimate goal is to take the Ripple concept to kids. Imagine what kind of Ripples we could create if we could plant the seeds of Rippling in the minds of our youth! Talk about a tsunami of Ripples!!! Alas...someday. Must first walk before run Grasshopper...or should I change that to Ripple Maker? Either way...you get the point right?

Anyway mosey over to Thom's BLOG and take a read and help celebrate my passion and the passions of Thom and is other inspiring contributors.

Thanks again Thom for asking me!

Community Is Where You Create It

Last night I participated in the monthly Austin Business BLOGGERS Club "informal" gathering at a local Mexican food restaurant called Guero's Taco Bar. It was well attended by some really sharp people and after some minor reluctance to attend (after a trying day), I was glad I decided to go. It was exactly what I needed!

As I watched and listened to how and why so many people passionately and diligently write their BLOGS each day, I found myself inspired; inspired in the fact that so many people showed up, openly shared ideas, tips, tricks and had unfiltered, unedited conversation. As I watched people throughout the night, I watched people change. People who had once been strangers were now becoming friends.

It was the beginning of what I hope will become a fun community.

As I drove home last night, I found myself wondering why I don't do more of these kinds of things. Community really is where you create it. Much of the time it can be something as simple as getting a group of BLOGGERS together for an evening of chips and salsa (and the occasional cold beer) or a group of Mom's concerned about their child's local school. Community usually begins and ends with passionate people coming together to share ideas, express opinions and truly connect.

What areas in your life do you have interest in? Whatever it is, guaranteed there is someone, likely many 'someones,' that are out there wanting to share in your passion and in your interests and would be willing to bring the same. Start looking for them, pick a place to meet and let the chips (or salsa) fall will they may. I bet you will be surprised how quickly your community blossoms and grows.

In case you are interested in learning more about our next Austin Business BLOGGERS Club or a list of those who attended last night's meeting, check out Thom Singer's BLOG post today by clicking here.

My Friend Thom

So last week a friend of mine, Thom Singer who is a brilliant author, speaker and all-around good guy started his Praise Other's Project on his BLOG. The POP is a neat collection of people that Thom finds inspiring or motivational and he offers a neat little summary of why you might like to meet them as well.

Thom's vision with this series is fantastic. He really has tapped into something and has opened my eyes up to a whole series of new, inspiring people that I might not have otherwise known about. I know you will enjoy reading his POP posts as much as I have.

I was honored to be selected as Thom's first choice and can not tell you how much I have appreciated this special recognition. You can see his post by clicking here.

Thanks Thom! I appreciate you, your friendship and your ongoing support more than you will ever know!

Be sure to check out Thom's excellent book Some Assembly Required by clicking here! It makes an excellent holiday gift!!!
