Ripple Connection Question of the Week

Ripple Connection Questions are a unique way to engage people in conversation. Whether with a complete stranger or someone you already know, but want to know better, using Ripple Connection Questions (RCQ) accelerate the dialogue and deepen the connection. The questions are by design fun to ask and fun to answer and can take your connection to an entirely new level. Come on, break out of that shell yours and start Rippling.

Trust me you will be glad you did!

This week's Ripple Connection Question is....

What was your favorite "thing"
to do when you were a kid?

Getting someone to reconnect to their childhood and through their own stories, allows you to journey back with them as the mentally relive and retell of their childhood adventures. Using this kind of connection question is one of the quickest (and neatest) ways to deepen a connection with someone you want to know better.

So my answer to this question is.....

Playing SPY. My friend Kevin and I could play secret agent spies for hours and never get bored. Whether it was sneaking into the backyard of the "Hippie House" or trying to find the secret dungeon door that the "witch on the corner" had to have (we just knew it!), we did it all and then some! Our bikes were our James Bond-enhanced sports cars and our fort was of course....headquarters. We were pretty hot stuff with gadgets and trinkets that would make your head spin even today.

I miss those days and think of them often. It was just plain good old American boy fun. Oh the trouble we use to cause! But alas I can tell you no more because us spies have a credo of secrecy that we are sworn to protect.

Hope to hear your answers to this week's RCQ!

Ripple On!!!

Steve, I've used two variations on this question:

1. What is something you did as a child you wish you could still do today?

2. What is something you enjoy today that you wish you'd learned to do earlier in your life?

Variation: Draw it.

I think Matt is being a "show off"!! (wait... was that a kid or adult thing to say?? ***chuckle***

My thing was to read, read, read, and read some more! The world could've been coming to an end around me and i would not have noticed because I would have been happily immersed in a good story.

What did I like to read? I obsessively read Science Fiction, Fantasy Fiction, and Nancy Drew books (because I thought the Hardy Boys were wimps). And of course I had all the tales of Robin Hood, King Arthur, Richard The Lion Heart, and The Three Musketeers mixed in, as well.

Did you make a miniature walkie talkie with a matchbox and a pin?

I loved to read like magnumvox, science fiction!!

When I stayed at my Granny's in the country she had an outside toilet and a tin bath which was put in front of a blazing fire, she cooked on the fire too. I was away from my sisters and brother and read all the books my dad and aunts read when they were children. She had an encyclopedia and in it was one of the prints she had on the wall - exciting stuff. I stayed there for one week every summer and I loved it.

I loved to body surf in the sea staying in for hours. I went to the beach to swim for the first time after 3 years and stayed in 2hours enjoying the surf and floating inbetween waiting for a good wave.
