Ripple Connection Question of the Weekend

Well Memorial Day is upon us! Our first real holiday since Christmas and New Year's and I for one can't wait to get my weekend started. How about you?

Since Memorial Day is here it also offers an opportunity to connect. That's right....spend some quality time with your family and get a real update as to what is going on in their lives, get out and talk with your neighbors, strike up a conversation at the community pool or just go spend a lazy morning at (where else?)....your local java joint.

Bottom line, just do something!

Okay with that said....here's this week's Ripple Connection Question:

What do you plan to do to make this Memorial Day Memorable?

If you care to answer the question and leave a comment we would love to hear your answers!!!

No matter what you do this weekend have fun and be safe.

Ripple On!!!

Steve

The hubby and I plan to relax in the boat and watch the kids jump in the lake. We are celebrating a lot of birthdays this weekend with extended family and I plan to make it memorable by connecting with everyone.

We get to see our older son-in-law before he goes to Afghanistan (he is a Marine).

I plan to enjoy my backyard which has gone largely ignored since winter. My kids will be playing tag I am sure and I may just have to pick up a bat and play a little wiffle ball...show them their old man still has it.

I second Alicia's plan. I also plan to catch up on a lot of the BLOG reading I have been failing to do. Having just found your's Steve, I have to say it looks like there are a ton of excellent posts that I need to read just on the Ripple Effect blog. But I have a few others that I enjoy reading...just way behind.

Ripple a Great Weekend Steve!

Well, it's a regular 2-day weekend for us north of border, but LAST weekend was our summer kick-off. My Victoria Day weekend was truly memorable for a plethora of reasons:
1) My parents arrived from NB for a 5-day visit...
2) The Ottawa Senators beat the Buffalo Sabres & made it to the Stanley Cup finals!
3) We had our first two BBQ's of the season on the back deck...
4) With the dynamic duo that are my parents, we accomplished an astounding amount of yardwork, including the removal of a dead cedar hedge eyesore...
5) Food, food and more food with family & friends...

...just to name a few.
Here's hoping my fellow Ripplers have as wonderful a holiday weekend as we did!

I will be doing a lot of driving and intend to try to balance talk radio with Neil Young cd's. (He has issued a couple of great concerts from his archives). I get to drive to Austin, pick up Lindsey (my ten year old daughter) and drive back to Corpus today. I will repeat this process on Monday. I could look at ti and say what a drag. Or I could choose to remember the blessing in my life that is manifested in Lindsey and have a great time on the road AND at home. I am mindful also of the meaning of Memorial Day - that is to recall those men and women who have served our country. I will honor them by not using this holiday to make any political statements about our current international situations. Instead I will say a prayer that these people and their families be given a moment of respite from any horror, frustration, pain, or fear they may have experienced from being involved in any military action. I will put aside my opinions and honor these men and women as individuals by expressing gratitude. An expression that has nothing to do with what policy's or political decisions that brought them into the situation in which they served. I will recall the freedom I have as a citizen of the country I live in and honor their contribution regardless of my understanding. Then I will give my ten year old a hug and we'll go see a movie and have a hot dog!
