Your "Ripple Effect"

I am in the process of collecting stories for a sequel to my book, The Ripple Effect. Please share stories of your ripples; things that have occurred because of your actions (good or bad) and how it has affected you.

The focus of my book centers around the power of the various contacts and relationships we have in our life. Our ripple effect is the actions that we take and the affect it may have on others. It is the outcome of those actions that most interest me.

For example, hanging out after work on Friday night with your co-workers and having a few too many drinks might have multiple kinds of ripples? Perhaps you drink too much and accidentally hit another car, go to jail and because you will most likely lose your licensee, you lose your job. Regardless of the outcome, you have changed the course of your life and your reputation.

Or perhaps you decided to have dinner with some friends and because you feel comfortable with those that are you your tongue gets too loose and you start smarting off about your boss. One of the people who you thought was a friend utilizes your social misstep to butter up the boss on Monday with a detailed accounting of your opinion of her. What ripples do you think might occur from there?

The whole context of "ripples" is they are actually actions which are a cause set in motion. Some can have positive consequences and some have negative consequences. They happen every day in every situation, personally, professionally, internally and externally. My contention is that many people know they happen, but many people don't actually take the time to think about them. Through my book and the series of follow up books, I hope to uncover the ripples that happen every day and bring them to light and perhaps open some additional streams of consciousness and discussion.

Would love to hear about your ripples and how they have affected you. If you don't feel comfortable posting, then please drop me an email at steve@swotvision.com. Who knows, we may use your ripple story in a future publishing.
