Do What You Already Know

People don't often realize that the easiest way to make the biggest impact on the people you most want to build a relationship with is to do what you already know.

Be yourself.
Give your heart.
Share your gifts.

Seems simple right?  Not really.  It seems most of us are predisposed to think that what we have to do something bigger or better to get people to like us.  So we put on airs.  We try to impress.  We expand upon things that we think will get other people's attention; make us relevant in their minds.  Whether it's through the titles we hold, the careers we have, the neighborhoods we live in or the places from which we received our education.

We do all that just to prove we are worthy.

Worthy of the other person's time,  Worthy of the other person's attention.  Worthy of being in their world.  Worthy of them!

And when that doesn't work, we feel like we've failed.  We feel like we're not good enough.  We retreat back into our shells and for many of us, refuse to try again, let alone with someone knew.  We isolate ourselves out of fear.  Fear or rejection. Fear of looking bad.  Fear of what people might think or say.  We assume that all people will respond the same and we throw in the towel and give up.

My friend it doesn't have to be like that.  If a connection is destined to turn into a relationship it will.  If that relationship is destined to turn into a friendship it will.  Isn't it better if that possibility comes from a place of purity?  Isn't it better if that future friendship is built on the foundation of honesty and trust not some fake or pretend status we always have to worry about maintaining.

Be yourself.
Give your heart.
Share your gifts.

And those who are destined to be in your life will be there if for no other reason than they were lucky enough to find you.

Ripple On!!!
