Ripple Recognition

I speak a lot about not keeping score when you do something nice for someone. The ripples you create on someone else's behalf will return to you; not always in the way you expect but they will return. But what about the ripples that are created for you by others. Do you remember to take the time to make sure the person doing the rippling knows that their efforts are appreciated?

I read a quote that I like very much which has some applicability here. "It takes a lifetime to build a reputation but a second to lose it." Nothing rings more true than when someone does something nice for you and you fail to recognize it and show your appreciation for it in a timely manner.

Take a few minutes today do a little ripple recognition and remember the good things that have been done on your behalf. Don't let another day go by without acknowledging that person or persons for what they have done. A simple Thank You can go a long way to securing your reputation and someone's continued willingness to RIPPLE on your behalf!
