Are You Driving For Results

Here's the scenario:

You get in your car and start the motor. You carefully back out of your driveway. You set the car to drive and off you go.

Sounds typical right? That's what you likely do every single day right?

Now why do you do it?

No seriously...why do you go through the motions of getting in your car, backing out of your driveway and hitting the gas?

Because most likely you have somewhere you are headed right? You have an end game. You need milk at the store. Let me run down to the corner store. I need to get to work. I'll better get a move on so the boss doesn't think I'm late. I need to get to the movie in time to get some popcorn and a soda. Let me hurry up and get going so I won't miss the previews (that's my favorite part too!).

You drive because you have some place to be, some place to go, something to do.

Otherwise you likely wouldn't go through the motions just to drive around.

People drive because they have a need to accomplish something.

So if you drive your car with purpose why don't you drive your life the exact same way? Why aren't you taking the very same steps to insure that you're driving your life to accomplish that which you want and need to accomplish? Why aren't you putting the exact same motions and effort into driving yourself to achieve real results every single day?

Think about it? We drive our cars like we are on physical and mental autopilot. The act of driving is just a means to an end. We know what we want. We know what we need to do. We simply get in and turn the key and go do it.

Well if it's that easy and that simple then I dare say you could and you should (I sound like Dr. Seuss) be taking those very same steps towards accomplishing the results you are looking for. Hey you already prove that you can do it when you are driving your car....so it isn't a leap to expect that you could put the very same effort towards achieving whatever it is you want to achieve in your life.

Just know your destination, turn the key on in your head and step on the gas.

Featured Blogger: Colonel Tom Magness

My good friend Colonel Tom Magness wrote an excellent BLOG post this morning that I just had to share. Colonel Magness shares an interesting perspective on President Barack Obama's first 100 days in office.

It's a must read for all of my Ripple leaders out there.
